Ten highspeed tactical watercrafts for maritime patrol of the PNP was added on its list of water asset. The 10 speedboats were blessed inside Camp Crame and were immediately dispatched to different regions for its service last Feb 9, 2022.
The 10 highspeed watercrafts are powered by three 250 horsepower outboard motor engines. It has a maximum speed of 40 nautical miles per hour or equivalent to 72 kilometers per hour in land travel. Each speedboat has 2100 liters capacity that can travel at least 11 hours in a speed of 40 NM/hour.
Tactically, each speedboat is armed with crew-served weapons: 50 caliber at the aft and two 7.62 LMG at the stern port and starboard sides and modern navigational equipment. It can have 24 PNP personnel in full tactical gear on board at a given mission.
