A 20 million+ pesos worth Dome facility, a first of its kind disaster-resistant and energy-efficient monolithic dome was finally completed and turned over to the Manpat-a Farmers’ Association (FA) in sitio Agaki, Balili, Mankayan, Benguet on January 21, 2022.
The dome was built at the highest elevation of 7,000 feet above sea level having an all-out floor area of 180 square meters and a height of 8.7 meters by Engr. Roden Guinto of Dazzling Lite Enterprises can store 250 metric tons while its packing facility (L-type) is enough to of the district.
The facility will benefit around 15 farmers’ cooperatives and associations (FCAs) who are generally into good agricultural practices or GAP and likewise, the facility is considered as an additional lift to the continuous endeavors of the Agri-partners in giving extra post-harvest offices in the region.
It also serves as chilly storage spaces intends to keep up with the newness and quality of Agri-fishery items in a bid to decrease post-harvest losses and significant items being produced such as potato, Chinese cabbage, sweet peas, carrots, potato and bell peppers.
Altogether, the monolthic dome has an all-out cost of Php20.798 million which came from the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act (Bayanihan II) and the Mankayan neighborhood government unit (LGU) with Php800, 000.00 partner pledge. The part was given by Mr. Donald Posayen and family, member from the Manpat-a FA.
On the other hand, the OIC-Regional Executive Director Cameron P. Odsey, Department of Agriculture-CAR praised the FCAs of Balili, Mankayan for their great deeds and endeavors in supporting the project. Likewise, he encouraged the Manpat-a FA and other FCAs to be acquainted with the general activities of the facility just as the agrarian interest to completely expand its advantages and benefits.
The turnover and acknowledgment function were driven by Dir. Odsey, Benguet Governor Melchor D. Diclas, Congressman Eric Yap through his assignee Ms. Jirrah Siddayao, and Mankayan Municipal Mayor Atty. Frenzel Ayong.
