TANUDAN, Kalinga: A newly constructed public comfort room was inaugurated and officially turned over to the residents of the three adjacent villages of Lower Lubo, Upper Lubo, and Babbanoy here recently. The inauguration and turnover program was graced by BGen Ronald Oliver Lee and BGen Steve Ludan.

Also present to witness the momentous occasion is Kalinga Lone District Rep. Allen Jesse Mangaoang, Brig Gen Steve Crespillo, commander of 501st Infantry (Valiant) Brigade; Police Colonel Peter Tagtag Jr., acting provincial director of Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) and Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag of the Municipality of Tanudan. Rev. Fr. and LtCol. Jonathan Lee Chy, regional pastoral officer, rendered the invocation and administered the blessing of the newly constructed comfort room.

As highlights of the program, Lee and Ludan led the ribbon-cutting ceremony. They were assisted by their better halves, Bong Lee and Lizette Ludan. Another highlight of the activity was the proclamation of donation of a lot by Crispin Gayagay and the signing of a memorandum of agreement.

Lee and Ludan initiated the construction of the comfort room with the help of the police officers of the Kalinga PPO. The project was conceptualized in consultation with the community and backed by data from health officials that the area is lacking public comfort rooms. The project was started on Sept. 10, 2021, under the “Adopt-a-Community” program of the Philippine Military Academy Tanglaw-Diwa Class of 1992.
