OPLAN BINNAGA: To Raise Awareness on Communist Terrorist Group in Mountain Province

“Let’s reverse the situation by making the CPP-NPA Terrorist fear the people, not them bringing the fear and giving threat, but this will be attained if WE ARE ONE. Whole nation approach, we work together not only for ourselves but for our children, grandchildren and for the generations to come. The populace should help each other in stopping insurgency thru “binnaga” (agbibin-naga)”. – PCol Ruben B Andiso, Provincial Director, Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (MPPPO).

The Philippine National Police (PNP) continue in reaching out to the barangays to tell and to share security awareness on anti-insurgency and the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration (ECLIP) Program which aims to help the rebel members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) to be reintegrated back to the community and be with their families.

In support to this and to the Executive Order No. 70 (EO70) that creates the National Task Force To End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), the Mt. Province Police Provincial Office (MPPPO) launches its “Oplan Binnaga” on April 22, 2021.

“Oplan Binnaga” is an initiative of the Mountain Province Police Force under the leadership of PCol Andiso which aims to attain lasting peace and strengthen public awareness on the government’s effort to get back the allegiance of people who have been misled by the CTG in the province. Relative to this, personnel from the different Municipal Police Stations of MPPPO conducts Barangay Symposium on “Oplan Binnaga” to the different barangays in their area of responsibility in which their participants usually includes barangay officials, youths, and Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPATS).

“Binnaga”, is a local term which means “to tell”.
