Good morning everyone! This is the last day of the campaign period and the killing of supporters as well as political rivals might start and escalate in your respective areas.
We also know based on historical data that last minute vote buying will commence.
It is sad to note that it started in the town of Magsingal, Ilocos Sur where 4 supporters of Mayoral Candidate Lorry Salvador Jr was killed. Good that the suspects were arrested.
Let’s try to avoid similar incident in happening in your respective AORs.
Kindly direct your respective PDs, CDs and COPs to engage the candidates to advice their supporters not to resort to such practice.
Their respective supporters might be too passionate for their candidates that they are willing to take the bullets for them. Are the candidates also as passionate to give their all to the families of their fallen supporters – lifetime?
While all candidates have their noblest intentions to serve the people in the towns and municipalities and provinces, the initial step to that is to ensure that no one among their supporters get hurt nor killed so that when they win, their supporters can be part of the change that their candidates wants to institute.
Supporters killing each other is a useless cause and if they are being paid to do it, it’s not worth the price!
The armed services (security sector) in its quest for a peaceful and orderly elections to ensure that the integrity of the result of the election is protected and acceptable by the majority of the electorates, can only do so much. We need the cooperation of everyone for this exercise to be successful.
Your armed services will exert all our efforts for our tasked to be accomplished no matter who gets hurt, gets caught and gets hurt!
We have our marching order from our Commander-in-Chief PRRD : “We will not allow violence, terror or intimidation to happen…. not during our watch! All for the most honest, most orderly, most secure, most accurate, and most free and fair national and local elections 2022!
Again, all commanders of Area Police Command Northern Luzon are directed to engage rival political candidates to engage their supporters for a violence free election in their areas.
