The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 2 finished a number of 993 BUILD, BUILD projects for cy 2021.
DPWH Regional Director Loreta Malaluan, reported that these newly-completed roads, bridges, and other infrastructure projects are now safely connecting more farmers to market centers, workers to their jobs, and the sick to healthcare facilities, protecting vulnerable communities, fostering trade and investment as well as socioeconomic expansion.
Amidst the pandemic, a total of 103.9 kilometers of national roads costing a P2.51 Billion and 2.06 kilometers of national bridges costing P616.8 Million, DPWH Region 2 successfully completed the construction, improvement, and rehabilitation.
In addition, the office completed last year a total of 58 flood-control projects costing P1.002 Billion which includes construction and repair of dikes, seawalls, river control, revetment, river walls, and drainage mains.
Aside from Agricultural development, the success of these projects is a way to easily deliver the services of the government and extends it to the residents of the far-flung areas. Furthermore, it leads for better tourism and to lessen or eradicate the numbered members of the Communists Terrorists Groups that is existing in the Valley.
